Microbial Ecology and Disease Ecology Microbiota of insects, amphibians, and fermented foods. Assembly, stability, and function of microbial communities. Microbial interactions and their effects on microbial community structure, function, and influence on the host or environment. Effect of environmental fluctuations on the nature of species interactions and potential shifts along the parasitism – mutualism continuum. Three-way interactions between host, pathogen, and microbiome and their implications for disease dynamics and host population dynamics.
