Fly Kiss
Fly Mouth

This is the mouth of a sucking-type fly (as opposed to a biting-type fly). The spongy mouthparts (green) are used to lap up food. If the food is dry, the fly can moisten it with either saliva or even vomit (YUCK!) before sucking it up. You can see how this would help to spread germs!
