Research Interests
My lab works at the intersection of biogeography, phylogenetics and community ecology theory to identify patterns and processes that underpin the assembly and function of microbial biodiversity. Using a suite of molecular tools, manipulative experimentation and field-based inquiry, I seek to model and predict the patterns of microbial diversity in order to improve our understanding of how they mediate host interactions with the environment. Finally, I work towards manipulating those processes to abet conservation and restoration efforts.
