PBRC has played a substantial role in community engagement. Over the last 5 years, PBRC has trained in excess of 200 students. PBRC sponsors a large fraction of the undergraduate training programs at UH Mānoa, including minority-serving programs that include Native Hawaiians. PBRC sponsors an array of outstanding community outreach activities including collaboration with State, federal, and community stakeholders, K-12 education, promotion of local and international biodiversity awareness, effective conservation efforts.
