Microbial Ecology and Disease Ecology
Assembly, stability, and function of microbial communities. Bacterial-fungal interactions and their effects on microbial community structure, function, and influence on the host or environment. Effect of environmental change on the nature of species interactions and potential shifts along the parasitism - mutualism continuum. Three-way interactions between host, pathogen, and microbiome and their implications for disease dynamics and host population dynamics.
