  • JABSOM Biomedical Symposium will be held on April 30, 2004.  Undergraduates will be in the morning and Graduates will be in the afternoon.

    • Make sure to submit your JABSOM poster to Richard by Wednesday, April 21, 2004 if you are planning to make a single large poster.

  • Guest Speaker: Dr. Ralph Garruto, Research Professor of Anthropology and Neurosciences at Binghamton University. 

  • Endocrine Society Lecture.  Tuesday, February 4 at AgSci Building Room 219 from 8:30 to 10:15 am.  Lecture: "Reproductive Endocrinology in the 20th Century."   Presented by Dr. Neena Schwartz.

  • Visiting Extramural Speaker - Dr. Jose Torres-Ruiz, MARC Director, Ponce School of Medicine, University of Puerto Rico. To look at individual meeting schedule, click here.  Dr. Torres-Ruiz will conduct two lectures:

    • Lecture on "Nutrition" will be at Sherman Laboratory Conference Room.  This Lecture will begin at 3:00pm Monday, October 28.

    • Lecture on "General Metabolism" will be at Agricultural Science Building, Room 219. This lecture will begin at 3:00pm Tuesday, October 29.

  • Special guest lecture regarding "Psychological Aspects of Organ Transplants in the Ethnic Minority Community" (sponsored by the Department of Psychology) is being held at Gartley Hall, Room 102 on October 23, 2002 (Wednesday).  The lecture will be conducted by Dr. John Robinson who is an internationally known pioneer in the area of ethnocultural and racial variations in human health and well being.  In this lecture, critical issues will be raised about nature, meaning, and consequences of organ transplants in the ethnic minority community.  Please contact Dr. Anthony Marsella at 956-8414 for further information.

  • Dr. Gabor Mocz, manager of the Biotechnology and Molecular Biology Institute and Training Facility has agreed to provide a facility tour on Wednesday, October 16, 2002.

    Please meet at the lower entrance of  Gilmore Hall, 3050 Maile Way--at the "butterfly wall"
    promptly at 5pm as the building will be locked.  Dr. Mocz will have to provide entry to the building as the facility itself is located on the 4th floor.
     

  • University of Hawaii at Manoa Outreach College is providing a noncredit workshop on "Preparing for the GRE (Graduate Record Exam)" on Sept 18 to Oct 5.  The cost is $250 which includes Kaplan textbook.  For further information, click here.
